Was down at my local shop this morning just browsing when I saw a deal to good to pass up. There on the shelf was a NIB Kahr P45, priced cheaper than Bud's at $559 (Buds is $615 delivered). I was very surprised at this shop generally has higher prices but the fella I deal with said the owner wants to move some stock. Needless to say I forked over my debit card (they don't charge an extra 3% there) and went home with a new toy. So nice my CCW came in last week as I bypassed the NICS check as well.

This was one I've been wanting for a while as I really like my E9 and I also didn't want to buy used in case there are issues. Now I have a great selection of carry guns and it'll be difficult to decide what to strap on - tough problem...

I have a PM40 coming in tomorrow on a trade and I expect it will be a handful shooting a .40 from that small a package. I probably won't get this one to the range until the weekend but I'm looking forward to breaking it in...

I have found the P45 is a handful too. I've tried two brands of +P, but speaking only for myself, it is too much recoil to accomplish any kind of speed or quick second shots. Standard loads are plenty in this light framed pistol.

P45

Having owned three Kahr pistols, one a P45, I'd recommend firing at least 500rds. before carrying. Two of mine had to have the barrel and slide replaced before 500, a PM9 and a P45. The P9 has been totally reliable.

Was the slide stop beveled when you bought it? Mine is squared, and digs into my thumb when firing.

Took this picture a few minutes after I got home so this is how it looked out of the box. Did strip it down and give it a good cleaning and lube though...

Let us know how it is to shoot. The size makes it tempting, but I wonder how harsh it will be given the weight. Not that I am recoil sensitive given all the 10mm I have fired over the years, but the P45 just does not weigh much.

Was reading some articles on it and supposedly the recoil on these is more "comfortable" than on the subcompact XDs. I have a PM40 coming in today on a trade and I'll be taking these to the range later in the week...
