Svords and Opinels shipped! Concluding another THR Group Buy

Svords were waiting on my doorstep when I got home.

Got everything packaged up, and 10 of the 15 packages went out today. I still need shipping info from a handful of you (will send PMs today), and those will go out shortly. If you don't get a PM from me today, you're probably good.

Pretty neat knives, the Svords. Very primitive, solid folders, and the leather sheathes are pretty slick too. A lot of them are pretty greasy, with some metal and wood dust; all these came right off the workbench and into an Airmail package.

Please check your pkg carefully to find the smaller Opinels, and your Svord warranty/maintenance info. If you have any issues with your order, please PM me straightaway.

If any of you knife-savvy folks want to write a review, that'd be great to see.

I might end up with a couple extra Svords, so feel free to send folks my way if they want one at the Group Buy price.

12 orders shipped. Three orders just missed P.O. closing today, so will go out first thing Monday. That'll be the last of the current orders.

I have four more left, so I'll go post 'em in the Sales board on BladeForums.net, unless someone else has a buddy who want one.


Still aiming the Douk-Douk GB for Marchish. My aim is to get the largest variety of douks possible, so am in negotiations w/ a wholesaler that claims to have the entire French catalog available to him, and at prices far cheaper than I could get ordering off a French website, paying in Euros, etc.


Not committing to running too many future GBs, but does anyone have any other suggestions? Some of you may have noticed that I'm working down the old BladeForum thread: "best knives under $20".

Main blades in the thread were Opinel, Mercator, Douk-Douk, Okapi, Mora, etc. Moras are cheap enough and common enough Stateside that it's not worth bothering on. Might conceivably try and work Okapis into the Douk GB if it's doable.

Neat knives, I didn't think that the Opinel would be so light in weight. It would certainly disappear in your pocket. The blade is just a tad thicker than my A.G. Russell Woodswalker.

The Svord Peasant Knife is really neat. It took two men and a boy to get it out of the sheath the first time, but it is getting easier as I work it in and out.
