sw40ve shooting low

Has anyone else had this problem? I just bought it this weekend and ran a quick couple of boxes through it with zero problems. The only thing i noticed that was off was that i was shooting consistently low. I was predominantly checking for function so I only had the target out about 6 yards out. I don't think this is due to flinch as I don't mind shooting a 40 and compared to my keltec p11 the trigger is easy for me. I easily balance a dime on it while dry firing. What do you think?

Other than, maybe try some 165gr vs 180gr or visa verse, take 2 snap caps and load them around the 4th and 7th round with your live ammo in a mag and see what happens..


IF the gun dips, then you have your answer as IF this is your first 40cal, then there is a tendency to anticipate, the slightly, more recoil (effects) than a 9mm or a 45cals push that you're comfy/used to..

Personally, I find the 165gr more, all around distance, fun/accurate round vs what I use for SD/HD JHP's of 180gr at 16ft - 25ft.

try to dryfire it more, and check if you're pulling the trigger in such a way that make the muzzle go down.

I'll practice dry firing it this week and see if the problems changed in a week or 2 when I can make it back to the range. If it's still shooting low I'll probably put a colored line on the front and rear sights and use that to sight on.

use 180 gr (slower ammo) to raise POI. when all else fails file the front site down a little, it's just plastic.

Had an instructor tell me that low and to the left is anticipating and guess what? I made a bunch of holes low and to the left for a long while. I did not feel like it was me but the "paper target don't lie". I'd let an experienced shooter try my gun before I adjusted anything. All it takes is 5 rounds from an experienced shooter and you will know. And when I say "Experienced shooter" I am not talking about the guy bragging about how good he is and all that.
Just another opinion.

I believe I've found the problem...

and it's me

I took her back to the range today and put another box through her and although I'm still a dash lower than I'd like it's much improved since the last time.

I have two buddies that have this pistol, or should I say, had. One of them got rid of it, the other still has it. The first one that got one, loved his. It shot great. He hit right where he aimed, and I shot it some and it also hit dead dead on for me. It really shot great.

The second friend bought one and told me it was shooting low. By low I mean at 25 yards, 2 feet or so. At 7-10 yards, If you wanted to shoot a bottle you aimed at the bottom and would hit the top. It shot this way for him, his daughters friend who is a police officer, and myself. I'm not sure what the deal with it is. He wanted to get adjustable sights, but never did and I think he is trying to sell this one now too.

I'm not sure what was up with that second one. The trigger was also horrible on it as the Sigma's are known for where as the one of the first one while not anywhere near good, wasn't horrible.
