The thread is metric 14x1mm.
Some M/38s and M/96s were rebarreled with threaded barrels for the installion of a black firing device. Making them M/96bs. ect.
The Swedes and some other countries used blanks with a wooden bullet on the end. Originally these wooden bullet blanks were used at longer ranges in field exercises. The troops were told to shoot off to the side of other personel when at closer ranges.
Of course troops being troops,,, still shot at each other and there were injuries.
So they invented a device that shreaded the wooden bullet as it exited the barrel. I own a couple of these devices.
When the blank firing adapter was not installed, they issues a little piece of threaded semi clear plastic gizmo as a thread protector. In the US there are metal thread protectors that look a little better. The blue steel US thread protectors are not Swede militray issue. They also do not let you mount an issue Swede bayonet as they are just a touch too large in diameter.
Many guns ended up with the threaded barrels as barrel were replaced well into the 1970s.
The Swedes NEVER issued or made military flash hiders for the M/96s or M/38s. While they are marketed in the US, they are just an aftermarket part and nothing more.
