I just bought two Smith & Wesson Model 10 3" TAPERED barrel revolvers from J&G Sales in Prescott AZ. The tapered bbl is half way between the old skinny barrel and heavy barrel. I believe Smith called them the MEDIUM barrel.

They are french contract buy-backs. So, one may assume they have never been fired, and dropped only once.

The pair I purchased were Very Good grade condition with square butts, wearing Pachmayer Gripper stocks. I would actually say they were mechanically 100%, lock up nice and tight, and have the darned good Smith & Wesson triggers!

They are both shooters!

I put a pair of Spegel Boot Grips on one, and left he Grippers on the one my wife wanted. I knew I had to buy two of them because the wife likes wheelguns and would have stolen the one I bought for myself!

I took them both to the range and gave them a workout. Great little shooters, as you'd expect from a K-Frame, and a steal at $189.00 each!

If anyone out there is looking for a really good, serviceable wheelgun...these are worth every dime. Loaded with 110gr CorBon jhp's they are darned good!

I only bought them to add to my K-Frame collection, but the wife likes hers so much...it has replaced her 4" Model 64 as her bedside gun.

I carry an auto daily, but I'd pack this little honey with no qualms.

I guess it takes a Frog or an Aussie to buy the M10 with a square butt, then add Pachmayr Grippers! Some S&W M12 Airweights were made for French use with a silly thumb safety on the right side...

The round butt and trimmer grips seem better suited to the three-inch barrel.

Hmm, I saw the ad for them in the Jan 3 '04 Shotgun News, but the website is a little clunky. They're in the online store section; http://catalog.jgsales.com/
under S&W revolvers. Item numbers 25-1359 and 25-1055.

My local shop has a few of these. I'm in the market for a 3" revolver. I was looking for something in .357 and for some reason I think I want a round butt ( ) but one of these might do the trick.

Will these old M10s shoot +P ammunition safely? (for carry, not much for practice)

How about a pic? I've been curious about these and would like to see how they look from someone who bought one.
