As I see it, the following states can use all the help they can find to keep Kerry from winning:

Arkansas, Maine, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Washington.

Do you members of those states know of any events which we can pitch in on to help make successful? Money, computer work, etc., to help ya'll?

Now's the time, and our rights are the issue. Let us know!! :fire:

The same way the liberals do: Work.

Get whatever lists you can of members of pro-gun organizations, and phone those members (or help man the organization's phone bank) and bug them about going to vote.

Put pro-gun "Go vote!" ads in newspapers and in the "junk papers" like Thrifty Nickel, et al.

Help your local political party organization man phone banks...

All that stuff...

Roon you forgot the most important swing state of them all, Florida, not to mention Ohio. I think as far as RKBA right now we are looking pretty good on the Presidential front we need to worry about the Senate. How can we be losing seats in AK and CO? It doesn't make sense for those states to go Democrat.

Jeff,

I made a judgement call. I've been using the L.A.Times and their poll compilations (using results from all the polls and with slick interactive and assignable states), and they showed Ohio and Florida going to Bush with a margin of 4 points or greater. I only listed states with a smaller margin, +3 to -3 Bush. The numbers will be changing this week, so I just went ahead with the list of 10.

In checking the list tonight, Florida is +5 for Bush (as of 28Sep) and Ohio is now only +2 for Bush (as of 29Sep).

I agree Senate and Congressional seats are vital, too.

Last time we did this (in 2000), there were grass-roots gunner events around, one most notably in Colorado. A bunch of us sent money to the group, well spent. We need to find other grass-roots folks to point out ways we can help.

There's also the floating RKBA listing at the top of this forum (L&P) which can give us great help.

Not to be too gung-ho about this, but time to roll up the sleeves, young ladies and gentlemen.

The same way the liberals do:
vote and vote often:rolleyes:

Actually, work like h*ll to get the Republican voters and gun rights people to vote.

Run adverisements of how Kerry is anti-firearms and will work to pass firearm laws that are unconstitutional and take away the citizens rights.

Arrange carpools to drive voters that lack transportation to the polls.

Time to take a Little Action!

Our local NC activist group, Grass Roots North Carolina (www.grnc.org), has been shaking things up around here for several years. Go to any NC gun show and you find at least one table taking donations and signing up members. The group has been a target, most recently in an Anti-Gun article, generating GRNC's Retort . GRNC is so successful by folks like us pitching in $20 here and there. That's real grass roots, and real success.

We don't have to worry about NC voting for Bush, but the election is WAY TOO CLOSE!

I'm sure each state has a similar group as GRNC, and the following states, among perhaps others, are in play: Florida, Iowa, Maine, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin (for Monkeyleg ;) ).

I will send $20 to each statewide pro-gun group (similar to GRNC) posted here from the above list of states. That's what, $180 or so. That's a brick or two of plinking ammo.

Anybody got some links to post? I'd like to do a little plinking.

Thanks for the link! $20 bucks on its way, plus a new coffee cup to add to my collection!

(It still won't be replacing Ms. Tracy's out of Study Butte Texas, anytime soon! :D At least not as long as I can read the fading letters.)

I still got some rounds left, folks. Any more links?

I'm the definition of a Swing shooter from a Swing state. I am completely undecided on who I'm voting for. Frankly, I don't like either of them much from what I've seen.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GIVE ME SOME SORT OF SOLUTION!

Someone convince me, I need some help here.

Welcome Shooter!

If I shouldn't have been in bed a couple of hours ago, I spend a bit giving you some of my reasonings, but I'll put that off 'til tomorrow.

I have no doubt there will be plenty of folks here to give you their thoughts, but as far as gun rights go, I think Kerry's record is pretty dismal, while Bush has done many good positive things for us.

I honestly can't trust a man who puts himself up for medals, and as a former vet, that just screams opportunist to me - a guy who will trade honor for advancement.

I'm not thrilled with Bush on the environment, and thought he dropped the ball on the Medicare issue, preventing the feds from negotiating best prices.

I'm competely behind Bush on Iraq, as a long-term project, and I know every war is just one major snafu after another, until its over. And I guess that's the one issue, other than gunowners' rights, which push me into his corner. I don't think Kerry has the stones to stick it out in Iraq to solution, not with his party screaming at him to bail.

Hmmm, I guess I sort of got wound up there.

Well, welcome again, and stand by for plenty of other strong feelings here.

Well I drive truck for a living and if I see someone home and they have a Bush sign in the yard then I give a tug on the air horn and give them a thumbs up through the window. I also have a small Bush bumper sticker on my trailer, but that kind of looks like a tick on a dogs rear if you know what I mean.

I have noticed a trend though, I live out in rural farm land outside of Toledo and a lot of the farmers and people our here have Bush signs in the yard. Yet when you get inside of Toledo you start to notice more Kerry signs. It seems to me that rural folk are down home gun tote'n Americans and then you have the modern yuppie city liberals.

ME and NH Gun Groups Websites

NH is www.gonh.org. This is a great group of people I've been a member for years call them and ask if there is anything you can do to help. I will be calling them on Monday to see.

Maine is http://www.omnisystem.com/MaineRPA/. I don't know anything about this group I got it off the Maine state page at packing.org.

You can try packing.org going state by state page. I will post these links if I can when I get back from Mass.

Good luck!

I'm just wondering.

So, on the debate a few nights ago, why the hell did kerry feign so much ignorance on the subject of the AWB? Talking about some drug dealer having an AK? Bullsh*t, AKs were available for Civvies since day one, Gun control is an important enough subject I'm sure he was aware of it, and besides, a "hunting gun owner" would surely know. Hell, I'm 18 and working on getting my first firearm, and I even know about it.

But then Bush starts off with

Actually, I made my intentions -- made my views clear. I did think we ought to extend the assault weapons ban....

So what am I supposed to do? They both are against it or so it seems....

What do you people all think?

Connecticut Yankee,

I went to gonh.org, but no email or way of donating. I'll have to give them a call tomorrow to see if they want the donation, or to which other group they might recommend.

Maine Shooters,

I went to the Pine Tree State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc website, but they don't seem to be political, more competition oriented. Any of you know of a politically active Maine RKBA group?

16 Days!! Let's keep moving.

Roon, I posted this over on TFL in response to I believe was your same post here:

Our group--the Wisconsin Concealed Carry Association--has a political action committee, the WCCM. We don't operate at the federal level, though. Only state level candidates. We've already given the maximum amount to every pro-gun candidate who wanted PAC money, some $15,000 or so in the last couple of months.

I know you're concerned about the presidential race, but for you or others interested in concealed carry in WI, there's another race at the state level that's important.

Barb Linton, who was the representative for the northernmost district in the state a few years ago, has returned to run against Democrat incumbent Representative Gary Sherman.

Gary Sherman voted for our concealed carry bill in 2002, signed on as a co-sponsor for the bill in June of 2003, voted for the bill in November of 2003, and wrote lengthy articles in his district's newspapers about why we needed the bill. After the governor vetoed the bill, he wouldn't talk to the NRA, our group, or any other gun group.

When the day of the veto override came, we had exactly the number of votes to override the governor's veto--if Sherman voted to override. He waited until every other member voted, then voted to sustain the veto.

The governor offered him something, and I think I know what it is. Meanwhile, right after the veto override vote, Governor Doyle started holding fund-raisers for Sherman all over the state. He even had one in March at a chi-chi coffeehouse on Milwaukee's liberal East Side, with anti-gunners turning out in full force to contribute and to thank Sherman for keeping Wisconsin one of four states with no concealed carry.

As of the last campaign filing report, roughly 1/3 of his contributions have come from the liberal Madison area and the Milwaukee area (Milwaukee is 370 miles from Sherman's district).

Barb Linton is 100% for concealed carry, and is running a very good campaign. But Sherman still is outspending her. Anyone who wants to help can send a donation of any amount up to $500 to: Linton for the North, Route 1, Box 299, Highbridge, WI, 54846.

Some more good news!

TheBluesMan has offered to make a $20 match contribution to the donation to Ohioans for Concealed Carry.

Next!

$20 to Barb Linton, via snail mail. Done.

It's feelin' a little lonely out here. Come on folks, these are your rights, but only if you work for them!

Shakin' the trees here... I have never had a harder time giving away money in my life.

With all the bitching around here over Kerry, how come we can't find places to put money working towards his defeat.

I KNOW we're not all a bunch of poseurs here, are we?

Serious gunners, help me!!! :cuss:
