Switching Glock Gen 4 Frame to Gen 3 Slide/Barrel?

This has probably been asked before and I couldn't find what I was looking for during the search (maybe using the wrong words), but I need a question answered;

Switching parts from older series of Glock's (Gen3) to Gen 4 OK?

I have a Glock 22, Gen 4 and a Glock 34, "Gen 3". Is it possible to switch the slide/barrel from the G34/Gen 3, onto the G22/Gen 4 safely?

I like the Gen 4 smaller grip and I'd rather not purchase another G34/Gen 4 if this will work.

Is there any downside to doing this?

You can do it but you need an adapter from lonewolf distributors or Glockmeister. It allows you to use a Gen 3 slide on a Gen 4 pistol.
