Who here runs a non-OEM stock on their Contender? I have G2 with the factory synthetic stock, and the comb is too low for me even with my Leupold 2x-7x set into the lowest possible rings.

I'd like to find a stock with a taller comb - what are my options?

I have a Bullberry carbine stock and forearm on a G1 Contender and a forearm on an Encore.

I have been happy with them and Bullberry is good to work with.

I don't personally but I ordered a nice walnut pillared fore end and stock from Tony Gettel for my father to put on his contender...think it was fathers day a couple years ago. anyway he loves it and Tony will make them custom fit for you. I am sure you can tell him you want a higher comb on the stock and he will accommodate. He does really excellent work. Highly recommended.

Thanks!

Boyds also makes a selection of thumbhole and more traditional Contender stocks (for both the G1 and G2).
Do you know if the comb is the same height as OEM or taller or shorter? It looks pretty close to stock, to my eyes...

Sorry -- I don't. :( I have a Choates folding stock for my Contender, myself.

It would seem fairly doable to raise with the addition of a cheek weld cushion of some sort (?).

I just liked the look of the Contender with the thumbhole stock...
