T/C Dimension

My first question when I saw the dimension rifle was simply this. If they are going with a forged aluminum receiver, why didn't they forge a picatinny scope rail into it? Instead they have some bs bridge mount, or bolt on weaver mounts. Those guys over at TC made a wonderful Icon action with integrated recoil lugs and scope mount, but couldn't seem to carry it over to the dimension. They only needed to look at the success of the ar15 to see that an integrated rail can come in very handy. Swing and a miss.

I will say this, I am glad the Dimension is coming out in lefty versions. I would have at least two more Icon's if they would only offer them in lefty.

I think the purpose of the bridge mount is that the scope stays with the barrel and remains sighted in when you reattach the barrel. Of course, the down side is you will need to buy separate scopes for each barrel.

What is wrong with the bridge mount? The Picatinny would probably be a easier scope mount though.
And, what's wrong with the forged aluminium? Wouldn't it make it lighter?
I'm not challenging you, since you obviuosly know much more about it than I do, I just want to know because I am seriously considering this rifle in 270 and 300 Win Mag.

I have no problem with the aluminum receiver. The bridge mount has a mount to the receiver somehow, why isn't it mounted to an integral picatinny rail instead of a base that is screwed on?
I just don't know if I trust an aluminum base screwed into an aluminum receiver. The more number of screws you have in a system, the more chance of those screws backing out at the wrong time. This is where they got it right with the ICON action. That thing is truly a beast, and one hell of a rifle.

I have the less expensive version of the Icon, the Venture in 30-06, which is dead on accurate with a Nikon Monarch 2.5X10X50 BDC scope. That's why I'm interested in the Dimesion in other optional calibers. I don't need it, just want it.
