I'm looking at picking up a T/C Impact. My first choice would be the black stock w/weathershield, but I can't seem to find that model anywhere.

Cabela's currently carries a black/blue model for $250 and a camo stock/weathershield model for $300. I've never really been a fan of camo stocks - or really anything camo that i don't feel needs to really be camo (rangefinders, radios, car seat covers, etc).

Anyone want to talk me into either model? Obviously saving $50 would be nice, but if having the weathershield is a big advantage and well worth it, i'll go that route.

Thanks!

Thanks for the links. Any feedback on any of those sites (I haven't ordered from any of them)?

I do prefer to go through Cabela's, just because i have a giftcard for there. But, if I decide to go with a weathershield model I might have to get it elsewhere. Or settle for the camo stock.

How about this...

Has anyone purchased a blued Impact? How is the quality of the blueing? I realize it's a 'budget' firearm, but i'm curious if T/C has done a nice job with the blueing. I read some reviews that have said they did a fine job, but am curious about what actual owners think.

I have 3 TC BP guns with blue, including a Z5 Omega which I assume was blued the same as the Impact. I've had no problems and prefer the blue over the weather shield.

No chipping, won't dull, etc. Take care of the gun with good cleaning habits and it will last you a long, long time.
