If you're referring to the thick step toward the front of the press, it was already there. He just cleaned it up.Man you sure looks like you took a lot off.... Was there a reason?

They did a great job milling the base of the press.Correct.
I hit it with 4 layers of rustoleum primer and paint spray combo on the bare metal (not visible when installed but don't want rust sneaking in there). This thing is smooth and slick now baby. I can't wait to get it mounted and running.

I was about to suggest you pain the bare metal but you already did.
Did you get an answer from Lyman yet?
Please let me know because I had a bad experience with Lyman last year and I'm wondering if anything has changed. Not that it matters at this point, but the response I got late yesterday was, "what color is your press?" Presumably to determine possible manufacture dates (don't think they are orange these days). I responded with my photos. Have not heard anything else 30 hours later.
Yes the early T-Mags were cast and there was draft built into the mould in order to get them to seperate. Once you have it bolted down there should be no issues. If you wanted to shim with washers that is fine also.
We hope this response has sufficiently answered your questions. If not, please do not send another email. Instead, reply to this email or login to your account for a complete archive of all your support requests and responses.
That would not be the response I would want to here. I'm glad you had it milled down. At least you'll be able to sell it later on it you choose to. Otherwise it would be worthless to me unless someone gave it to me. You would have broke the casting if you would have torqued it down without shimming it up or bedding it as RC suggested, then you would have had to buy a new press again.Yes the early T-Mags were cast and there was draft built into the mould in order to get them to seperate.
