These were made by Kevin for my Bark River Bravo 1 and my Fallkniven F1

Edit to add: Ok what step did I miss? I posted thumbnails and full pictures. My full pics just gave the url?????

Edit: even a blind squirrel finds a nut

Tek Lok backs for attachment. When I receive them I'll take pics of the back side.

I asked Kevin to build them high and tight for carry purposes

Jim, they look simple and functional.

What's that horizontal slot (if vertically mounted) cutting 3/4 across from just below the handle?

Very nice, thanks. And thanks for posting pics I can view!

What price range do these fall into? $50-75?

John

Nem, I don't know. These are pics Kevin sent to me. I probably will have them in a few days. I'll let you know then.

John,
Yes regarding the price range but at the high end with tek loks and shipping.

I'm intrigued by the way he's mixing colors of kydex in one sheath.

It's kind of like what Maxpedition is doing with some of their bags, mixing colors of materials on the same bag - for example, main fabric is khaki but cords and mole is green. Very popular, quite aesthetic.

Nem,

The different layers of kydex serve different purposes so the color choices are a good aesthetic sense on his part. A lot of thought and work goes into each of his sheaths making them secure, efficient and attractive (as attractive as kydex can be).

Kevin's a member here and has posted pictures and explanations of his work several times over the past year. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=601633

Oh, very cool. Thanks for the link to that thread.
I can see I'll be spending some time there during off hours .... (which right now isn't :scrutiny:)

"Back to work, you lazy slave! Stop looking at sheaths!", shouted my boss.

(I'm self-employed and my boss is a slave driver.)

Jim:
Thanks for posting the pic's and thanks to all of you that took the time to comment.
Nematocyst: 'What's that horizontal slot (if vertically mounted) cutting 3/4 across from just below the handle?'
That is a relief cut, it allows me to place my mounting hardware in the same location on the sheath from knife to knife, it also allows the knife to be deployed and replaced with little drag and once the lock is engaged the knife is positively secure with the Level II retention.

Mr. Robinson, Keith - that makes sense (at least for a non-sheath maker level). :) Thanks for the explanation.

(And just call me "Nem".)

Great looking work. I can't wait to see what you're cooking up (in the toaster oven!) for Jim's blades.

And you'll likely be hearing from me about a sheath or two once my cash flow improves. (It's the boss's fault! He doesn't pay me enough!)

I received a package from Kevin today. Absolutely outstanding craftsmanship and design. Level 2 retention is up to the operator, meaning that it can be engaged or disengaged.
The sheaths are light weight and appear to be darn near indestructible.
Very, very impressed.

Jim

Coolness! This means more photos are required by your technical adviser.

She should be getting a raise soon, or at least a free dinner at a fine restaurant. :D

Yes and my Model 28 arrived today so I(we) will be posting pics in the Randall thread too.
A raise, out to dinner???? She already is over paid. Her employer is like yours, a slave driver........
