On June 25-26, 2005 Tactical Response will return to Atlanta to conduct a two day Tactical Shotgun course. I consider their program to be one of the best and this is an opportunity for you to learn to run that shotgun you already have (or want). Many people consider the shotgun a "point-n-shoot" platform but it's actually a highly specialized weapon that requires quality instruction in order to maximize its potential.

The shotgun is often the close quarters defensive tool of choice, due to its high hit probability and impressive terminal ballistics. Our Tactical Shotgun course teaches you how to get the most out of your fighting smoothbore.

Topics include selection of weapon and ammunition, patterning and zeroing considerations, practical shooting and firing positions, reloading under duress, tactical engagement of single and multiple threats, weapon retention, switch to slug, and firing on the move.

Live fire drills cover battlesight zero, slug select procedures, fire and maneuver from field positions, low light firing, basic and advanced buckshot drills, and hostage rescue.

Still have some slots available so for those of you who wish to learn to run a shotgun properly or brush up on your skills, opportunity knocks but you have to open the door.

I took this class last year, and I strongly recommend it. TR guys know their way around the scattergun and, more importantly, are good teachers.

I had quite a few rounds through my 870 before I went - but within the first hour of the class I realized that I knew very little about the platform as a fighting instrument. Training is critical. These guys are good. :)
