On April 3rd and 4th Tactical Response taught a two day Unarmed Fighting course. I believe that I should never stop learning and being exposed to new ideas so I was a student in the class. The lead instructor was Aaron Little who teaches and coaches full time at his gym in Lexington, KY. He had some help from some of his regular gym students which added a lot to the class because they brought with them a high level of understanding of the material covered.
It was a physical and tough but rewarding two days. Striking, clinch and ground fighting were all covered. Nobody got hurt and everybody came away from the class with skills that have been tested under stress against resisting opponents. This was not traditional martial arts class or lecture, theory and philosophy lessons. It was training for fighting when your attacker means to really harm or kill you.
If all you have is gun skills defense can start to look like an IDPA match. Get some more tools in your toolbox so your gun is not the only answer but one option among many.
Thanks to all the students who are dedicated to training with aliveness and thanks to Aaron for his hard work to teach the best defense techniques available. I really enjoyed the class.
