I'll publish about one a week as long as the muse strikes me. Glad you guys like it.

Funny, no doubt ... but I gotta ask ... why do you hate the gear collectors so much? Branch out! Gimme a fud version ... a range only version ... a bullseye shooter version! An IDPA version!

You're like that band that had that awesome riff, with the amazing drumwork and the deep lyrics ... but all they ever do is one song. >.<

Just a personal response here, but I think it applies to most of us here :neener:

We hark on them because they are the only group of people who think they are going to save the world, when in reality they have next to no training, but they think they can do it because, after all, they've got THE gear! That makes them automatically, a hero!!!!

Bullseye shooters and IDPA shooters? They buy their gear for a purpose, which is competition. Don't get me wrong, I own some of that "tactical" gear just in case crap hits the fan and I need to be armed, but I don't take it to the range every time I go to the range for everyone to laugh at

Dunno, most of the fuds I've talked to think they're gonna save the shooting sport by limiting rifle ranges to one round in the gun only.

This is a little off topic.

Orange, I just noticed that your first story says you served in Nam with the 1st Cav. The man I consider my grandfather did as well.

I wanted to say thank you. He never talked about it. I know he came home with a purple heart and an ankle that never healed all the way. Whatever happened over there was beyond anything I could imagine.

You guys were true heros. You didn't duck or dodge when the time came and you saved at least one other American from risking their life. You have my gratitude. It ain't much but it is all I can offer.

@Mike, thanks for the comments but I never served in Nam. I worked for many years as a LEO and my partner was a Nam vet. He was quirky, a little strange but hillarious and always could see the funny side of anything, no matter how bad it got.

@Nushif, these storys were written in conjunction with the friend I wrote about above. The only thing I did was touch it up and republish it. But making fun of IDPA or the secret sniper society guys would be a touch harder because as mentioned above, everything they have is purpose built and they actually have "skill". The collectors and keyboard commandos who sit around photographing their overpriced gear all day and who have no training are an obviously easy target. That said once I actually start writing again I'll try and branch out a little bit....just for you. I'm thinking more or less police or dumb criminal stories, I have a ton of material to work with there.

Looked at it again. I guess speed reading doesn't equal speed comprehension. I only feel like a slight idiot now.

If you ever see bill again, tell him there is at least one guy born in the 1980s that appreciates what he did.

A big thank you for what you did. I am not a LEO but I work side by side with them every day. I've been out there with them in some crazy spots. It isn't fun, it isn't glamorous, you don't get to see the good side of society, and most of the people you deal with hate you. It takes a special breed to do it everyday.

What was that saying, "God invented cops so that fire fighters would have hereos."

Superb.
With these skills, Mr. orangeninja might have already published a book (or polished, re-worded OERs etc in the military).

What an outstanding example to also inspire Gecko45, wherever he is.

"I deftly leapt towards my baton still lying on the ground I snatched it up, wielding it menacingly, like a steely phallic symbol of justice."

I'm still laughing!

where do they hide the donuts?

If they told you they'd have to kill you of course. Though I'm suspecting the majority get "hidden" internally somewhere between the mouth and colon.:D
