I am increasingly concerned about the deterioration our society and infrastructure. I am pretty certain the failure of the power grid is in some of our future. Should this happen for longer than a week we will be living in a world without the rule of law, unless some of us are able and equipped to support the local LEO’s, or at least try to protect my neighbors and family.

Right now I am trying to figure out how to fit out my BDU Rifleman’s chest rig. I have an old WWII molded plywood back board (were used in the Nam to hump radios) I will use to hump ammo, MREs and other survival needs should we need to move.

In a WWROL today I would be carrying an Ak-47, 6 mags, 12 ga tactical shotgun, 24 rounds, a 1911 9MM, 3 clips and my Walther PP .32 APC, 2 clips, an adz ( axe w/ offset blade used for making wood shake shingles ) and 2 knives. I plan on adding a lighter .22 than my Marlin 39.

I have many questions, but firstly, I am wondering how much that already weighs and how much an average man can carry at 50+. There is a lot of good ideas as to what you might want on board, but little on weight considerations for a QCB/WROL/SHTF/Survival fit out. Four questions I guess.

All and any suggestion are welcome.

Regards,

The power went out last winter and this never happened. Take your meds.

"wwrol" scenarios (societal breakdown) are outside the scope of the forum.
