I bought this laser/light a few months ago and I was a bit susceptible about a $30 laser being able to hold its zero. The light I had no worries about, it's a light, they're easy to make, but the laser is what intrigued me the most.

I hit the range last week with a 9mm AR pistol and gave it a whirl. I was really surprised that the green laser was visible in daylight, so that was cool and out of the box I was hitting steel at 15 yards. After a mag, I felt a loose rattling and I thought, "Aw crap, the mount busted." but it didn't, the screws holding the rail on came loose because I didn't loctite them. Even with the rattling piece of rail, the laser was still super close to the POI, so I'm stoked about this $30 laser/light.

I bought a Streamlight a few years ago for over $200 and now feel I got robbed.

Sure, the Streamlight is an aluminum housing and the Tacticon is polymer, so it's not exactly built to go to Iraq, but for a home defense rifle/braced pistol, this is way better than just a flashlight. Comes with a pressure pad switch too.

The few gripes I have are that the size is very big, probably because it's polymer so it has to be bulked up, and that means on compact pistols, it's likely not going to fit. For pistols, it's pretty much full size only. Also, the battery door and latch are all polymer and it was a PITA to get the door open and close it.

I'm gonna buy more of these and try them on some regular pistols (.40 Glocks) to see how they hold up to the recoil, but for long guns they are perfectly fine and so affordable.
