Used, but looks very unfired. What do you guys think about these extra’s and add on service to the 4.75” gun.

ex 45LC cylinder
EXP
Bushing
Action job
SPL Grip

What would you pay?

just curious.

Call Freedom Arms and ask them if they still support the forcing cone bushing - I don't think they do. This is an early gun and doesn't have the replaceable firing pin (can be retrofitted for a couple hundred $ incl shipping). The firing pin's are subject to breakage. Don't know what "EXP" is unless it's express rear sight.

On the plus side the gun has an aux 45 colt cylinder (a plus to me not to others who say it isn't needed), and micarta grips.

New list price is $3,350 without the 45 colt cyl and without micarta grip upgrade.

Here's one that's similar without 45 colt cyl and no micartas for $2,100 (shipping included but transfer fees would add to the cost). It also has the forcing cone bushing and probably no replaceable forcing cone. No 45 colt cyl and no micarta grips.

Here are current listings on Guns International for price comparison.

thanks for that, I put in a offer for $2800 solid. I’ll wait them out. It’s been sitting there for 5 months now, two of them with consecutive numbers. Thanks for the reply

I was going to say, probably somewhere around $3k. The .45Colt cylinder and micarta grips definitely add to it. It's obviously unfired. I'd like to have one just like it with ivory micarta instead of black.

That said, I paid $1500 for a used Field Grade with two cylinders. :p

$1500! AMAZING what thing cost in the 40’s! lol

Empty? I believe it’s a 5 shot. not drop safe?

Freedom Arms wants you to carry the 83 with an empty chamber under the hammer. (A lot of people apparently ignore that with impunity, but there you go.) One of the very few things that I don't like about the 83 is that it is, at least according to FA, a four-shooter.

The 97, for what it is worth, has a transfer bar.

WOW! I thought FA was the almighty gun maker with no drama but that 83 for sure is for the Bad Boy! I like it!

I like it. I've owned a similar revolver for about 25 years now. I was shooting and loading a lot of .45 ACP back then, so I ordered it with an extra ACP cylinder. Mine hasn't seen a lot of use over the years, but I've never regretted buying it..

what ya paid for your FA 25 years ago?

It means, "I want to be compensated for my own stupidity, just to come to the sad realization $600,000.00 don't grow a new leg"
$600,000 I would not even want to lose a finger

I’ll call FA and see what they say about the Cone Bushing

Like I said, no rush, they got 2 of them for sale, Wait out the old mans resolve

The drama comes from those who follow Hollywood movies instead of manufacturer's instructions...

Cheyenne:
[Turns the cylinder of his revolver]
All the way up to six if I have to.
[gestures to Harmonica's wound]
And maybe faster than you.
