The short story is that I ordered a set of Talley rings made for my Win 9422 from an on line store that I don't think is legit. I emailed Talley and told them the story. I asked them if they had any experience with the company and if they were legit. I was going to use the info in a conmplaint to the Pennsylvania BBB. Gary from Talley returned my email and said they never heard of the company, didn't do business with them, but that he would try to find out about them for me. Then he wrote something truly unexpected. He wrote "Give my your full address and I'll send you a couple of rings." This is above and beyond what anyone could expect. Every rifle I scope from now on will be done with Talley mounts.

That has to be one of the best customer service acts that I've ever heard of. I don't own any Talley rings but they will be on my short list from now on.

I've run into excellent cust. serv. from Bushnell, Weaver (Meade) and RCBS to name but a few.

Fella's;

I first ran into the Talley's when the operation was in Glenrock Wyoming, and I lived in Casper. They've since moved back to the Carolina's, but that's beside the point. They've always been extremely fine folks to deal with and have been for a long time.

If you know the gun & the scope you want to put on it & you can't find the rings on their website, by all means call them. I have & they've been glad to help me get the right rings & they'll stand behind their call too.

They are people you can count on.

Talley is the best! They have worked with me several times with rings. You will not be disappointed.

I've got Talleys on a couple guns...my experiences mirror the folks above. Good people to deal with.

Talley is a top notch company. Great rings/product line. I've had two positive customer support experiences with them this year. My wife was very impressed on one occassion she spoke with them too...above the norm customer service....

Re Bobarino's anti-scoped lever opinion... what's wrong with scoping a lever gun?...do we need to a wear cowboy hat, boots, chaps, and ride a horse to the range or hunting stand if we decide to tote a lever gun? Function over fashion...I'd prefer to kill my next trophy at last light rather than look traditionally sound.

Gary's a stand up guy, I've dealt with him a lot of times. The whole operation is top notch. I don't even bother with all the rest, when Talley's the best. ;)

They even have a few things that are not cataloged. They have 26mm rings, should you have a euro scope you want to put in service. Super nice rings for Steyr SSG's. Call and ask, they are very helpful.

Buy rings and need replacement screws, no problem.

Gator,

i was just bustin' his onions. notice the little grinny face guy there? just funnin' the OP. i really don't care what another man does with his guns as long as he doesn't fire them at me :)

Funs allowed for sure...but many bust on the scoped lever setup...gets old...had to finally write a counter opinion....to defend my scoped levers.

Hey Bobarino

I just had to say that. Bobarino you would be safe if I didn't use the scope. Eyes have been bad for about 45 years now. I'll admit though that she looks a whole lot sweeter without the scope. Does it help that it's an old Bausch & Lomb 4X from the 60's?

indeed fellas. didn't mean to cause a broo ha ha. was just trying to get a little funnin' in. i have a win '94 in .30-30 that i absolutely adore and when i bought it, it wore a scope and probably took many a deer. the scope now adorns my 981T and i enjoy the old school look and feel of an open sighted lever gun but like i said, i don't really care what another man does to or with his guns. they're his/her guns, not mine. if it puts meat on the table or brings a smile to your face, then more power to ya.

my first gun was a Browning BL-22. i loved that gun. still do. i had a scope on it and that thing was a tackdriver! i had to sell it to pay for books in college. wish i had never done that. someday, i'll have another .22 lever gun. it just doesn't get any more fun than that, IMO.

enjoy your 94/22. scope or no scope :)
