We all have heard the horror stories about some LGS's, how about bragging up your favorite LGS?

I purchased a gun safe from MY favorite LGS, had problems finding a reasonable rate to get it delivered.
Mentioned to LGS owner it would be a few days till I could get someone to deliver it to my home.
Next day he calls to ask if I was home and my street address. He wouldn't say what it was about, just said stick around for awhile. 2 hours latter a moving truck shows up, asks where I want the safe placed, and delivers it.
I ask for paperwork, they say "it's taken care of"!
Drive over to LGS, ask whats going on, what do I owe, Randy says "give me first shot at your shooting needs, then we will be square"!
He gets my shooting dollar almost exclusively! Only if Randy can't get item do I go elsewhere!!
All of his customers can tell stories of treatment like this!
ARGO SALES & SERVICE, Bismarck, ND.

I like that kind of CS! THAT will build a loyal following. As long as he sticks with it, that is.

A few years back, I contacted a shop I used to buy from bout getting me an AK. He called me back a day or two later saying I'd have to wait a bit longer for it to show up at my now local FFL as he refused the first one due to gas tube, sight, and stock problems. Got a great AK about a week later. The same guy also made one helluva "brother in law" purchase from to fund a very important move across state.

Walk into my lgs and their she is all of her glory a new model Blackhawk in 41 mag well I didn't have any money to put it on layaway so he said well ill put it in the safe until you do have it a week later I put it on layaway :D and now own it

My LGS is now a private appointment-style FFL who also manufactures firearms. Being that I'm stuck in Cali for a couple more years, and now that SSE transfers are gone at the end of the year, he was happy to order up a selection of sidearms for me in advance while I go through the 1/30 & waiting period. He is prompt, attentive to detail, flexible, and very knowledgable.

Bob's Is GREAT.

I have a FFL and work out of home while my close friend owns a shop in town. Most of my sales are online because used guns are more profitable and my sales reps don't take care of me. Most of the time I can't get allocated guns until everyone in the country already has them. Bob has been in town for over 30 years and has a very good store. If he has some oddball or high dollar guns that don't sell well locally he will have me list them online. When I couldn't get a Glock 42 for my wife, Bob sold me one for cost. If someone wants me to special order a new gun I send them to Bob.

Not actually a gun shop. The guys at my local pawn shop (It’s actually more gun than pawn) know I like S&W and Colt revolvers. For the last year or so they have actually kept guns in the back until I stop by every week or two to give me first shot at it.

I have several LGS's that have treated me very well. For example I was talked out of buying a Glock pistol because I couldn't find one that fir my hand well and I really didn't find the features I wanted. Instead the LGS owner talked me into buying a Taurus PT-145 Millennium Pro. I was very skeptical at first knowing their spotty repuation. He insisted I wouldn't be sorry. He even gave me a "30 day, try it out all you want and bring it back if you don't like it and get a full refund" deal. AND the price was about half the price of the Glocks that had interested me, the gun held more rounds than bigger Glocks and it fit my hand perfectly. So I figured I had nothing to lose even though I had the cash to buy a much more expensive gun. Still he sells me on a cheaper gun and gives me a fantastic deal to boot (not to mention a great price and an extra mag for free which they didn't come with at the time).

I knew within 5 minutes I had made the right choice. That pistol shoots great, it recoils great, it's uber dependable, and it fits in my front pocket (even though it holds 10+1 rounds of .45 ACP). It came with a rail too. The trigger was ok, it wasn't too heavy and the grip is thinner than many single stack .45 grips. I still can't get over that. The gun has misfired exactly once in about 2500 rounds and that was no doubt due to a faulty round because it fired on the second strike (something that is very easy to do with that pistol). I couldn't be happier with that pistol. And I spend lots of money with that LGS.

Then again I've had other shops do right by me too. I try to keep them all in business the best I can. I take my friends, I buy cases of ammo, I buy other guns, anything to keep those LGS's around to keep giving me good deals.

Too bad I don't live near there now but I still stop in as often as I can when I go back to my home area.

While I was looking around for a spotting scope that I could see bullet holes at 500 yds, I went to my main LGS and looked at his selection. He had a few with varying magnifications and I was unsure if 45x would be enough. So after talking to him he told me I could take one of them home to try out and bring it back in a could days. So he let me borrow a $500 spotting scope with no collateral or no agreement that I would buy one from him. I was very impressed with that. Try getting Cabela's to let you do that.

He has also held guns for me before without requiring any down payments. He has ordered guns from his distributor for me without requiring anything upfront.

I never do layaway, but last year he had a brand new Ruger SBH bisley that he just put out 30min before I got there. At that time I had no money to spare and asked him about layaway. He told me no problem and when I asked how much he wanted now he said he didn't care. So he held the gun for 2 months for me without getting a single penny, until I was able to walk in and pay it all off about 2 to 2 1/2 months later.

Pigeon Road Shooting Range is my go to LGS.

A while back the front sight fell off my friend's Argentine 1911. Allan re-staked it for free.

More recently, he fixed the slide stop plunger on my Commander. Also for free. And buffed out some blemishes on the hammer while he had it. Also for free.

Great service.
