I got a Challenger for free and I have been using it to decap/size and ram prime before running cases through my Dillon SDB. I read the manual for the first time today and I was astonished to read that the primers are expected to float through thin air to the little holding area (how can you empty it?). Any tricks and off the shelf tubing I can use to redirect the spent primers into the trash? I have sized/decapped a thousand or so and it was messy.

Why bother with the single stage press to do those steps when the Dillon SDB will do them for you?? I used to vacuum them out of the area the spent primers collected when I had a Lee Challenger press.

My SDB can't seat primers to save it's life. I get 20 or so high primers out of every 150 pieces. I kept calling Dillon and they kept telling me to push harder until I finally gave up. I developed some serious repetitive stress injuries trying to get the SDB to prime reliably.

I have my press mounted on the edge of the bench, I leave the screws loose on the holding area plate, and simply remove the plate when full. My brass bucket is on the floor, just under it, and most if not all, fall right in it:)
