tanfoglio mossad 9mm
I ran across one of these today while plundering around and was intrigued by it, its a compact 10 shot DA/SA that snugged into my hand like it was made for me, price was $350 but I'm still recovering from my last purchase,

i was wondering if any of you have one of these or have ever shot one of them, I didn't have my phone on me so no picture of the one i looked at, it was a full stainless model but i found a picture of one like it

It's a small frame compact Witness with the early style rear sight. EAA no longer imports the small frame steel guns, so you can't really buy a new one like it, unless its NOS.
If you only plan to shoot 9mm, it's fine, but a small frame gun with a 9mm slide can't be converted to any other caliber. If it was 40SW, you could shoot 9mm in it with just a barrel/mag swap, or you could drop a .357 Sig barrel in it. The new steel compacts are all on the larger frame and are convertible to 45, 10, 38 Super, 40, 9, etc.

Here's a small frame compact witness with various length barrels in 22 TCM9R, 9mm, 357 Sig, 40SW, and 41AE. Second pic, large frame on top, small frame bottom.

I have two "Mossad" guns, a compact. It was $325. Grips were ok after a little sanding down. They looked nasty when I got it.

A fullsized, my favorite gun to shoot of all my 9mms, $350, the slide to frame fit is amazing. I believe the slide is SS, as it's a different color than the frame. You can't see it in the pic.

And another fullsized, "Combat Shooting Cohai", $320.

The only thing I've done on these guns is to clean them up and change out the recoil springs.

Nice pictures!

I have a full-sized Cohai also, Hemi. It's my favorite centerfire pistol. I ended up buying several other Tanfoglio CZ "clones", but the Cohai 9mm is still my favorite.

I've never owned a compact version, but I would expect to like it. The Witnesses are excellent pistols.

Here's a bad picture of my Cohai. I think it's technically a Tanfoglio TA-90.

temptation is an evil beast,,,I no longer own a ragged old Spanish built .38 that I haven't shot in about 5 years plus a $100 bill wandered out of my emergency pocket in my wallet but I do own a shiney 9mm Tanfoglio that says Mossad on the slide and took me about half a mag to dial in at 10 yards, I put a total of 20 rounds in the target, each 3" corner target was shot in DA from 10 yards to just get a feel for the DA trigger. it had 1 13round mag with it so that will have to be corrected but I do like the pistol a lot. I will put a few hundred round through it soon but this arctic weather is going to have to go away before I can give it a good workout.

Nice guns my friends! I think Tanfoglio had (has?) a joint venture with IMI (IWI) to produce the Jericow 941 (nice gun) also known as the Magnum Research Baby Eagle so it probably appeared natural for them to put the "Mossad" word on the slide. CZ clones are very popular in Israel.

The very early Jerichos were made with Tanfoglio parts. Over time IWI started making them entirely on their own.

Those CZ clone compacts are very comfy in the hand. First guy I knew that got a Tanfoglio was my programming director when I worked at a small FM radio station. He knew I was a gun guy an picked my brains for a couple weeks after seeing blued and stainless models in a gun-rag centerfold. That would have been '94 or '95.

To his credit he took a class, shot a good bit and got his CCW.

There are a lot of reports right now that Italian Firearms Group is going to start importing some small-frame Stock I's (a Tanfoglio competition gun that is part of the same basic family). Apparently, they have a deal where they may be able to import all the Tanfo' stuff that EAA won't import.

But there's no indication they're going to import any entry-level/carry-level models, so I think your assessment about the ability to get a compact, small-frame Tanfo' will likely remain true even if IFG gets into the game.
