Tanfoglio 1911!?!?!?!

How long has Tanfoglio been making the 1911 witness? Does anyone have any experience with it?

To the best of my knowledge they are not imported, but I could be wrong.
I sent them an e-mail about a year ago right after I saw it for the first time and the answer was that they were not imported..

Yeah, Blues... there are now almost as many 1911 makers as you got quotes in your signature.

Just about everybody except Glock is making 1911's these days. Bet John Moses Browning never foresaw this! It is a true testament to his design that it is just as popular today, perhaps even moreso, as it was during the first half of the 20th century.
