Tango down grip problem.

My tango down Battle Grip (Pistol grip) doesn't fit on my DD lower properly, I was able to fix this to a certain degree by taking a power drill and making the hole where the screw goes, Longer, now I have this open space where the screw could move freely if the grip is stressed to an extreme or if it's loose. Could I make a sort of Shim to put in there and would that be a good enough fix? just as long as the screw sat in the right spot and then the open space is filled. Also, anyone recommend and adhesives or space fillers I could use? I really want to use this grip.

Shim should be fine. If you need to fill it try Acraglas from Brownells, it's great for that kind of thing. JB Weld should be fine, too.
