Just finished up a knife sheath for a customer for his tanto blade knife that he sent to me. It's covered with stingray, which is a very hard bubbly type skin - very durable. Here's a couple of pics:

I have access to a large variety of skins, some being more durable than others. Oftentimes there are a variety of colors available, too.

Oh man that's nice! I like stingray skin!

I just traded for a 13" fighter from a knifemaker in Denmark, and he used Stellars sea-cow for the handle and then covered the sheath in boar skin. It's very nice!

Those are both awesome looking, Valkman. I'd not heard of anyone using boar skin before. I'll have to check with the guy I get my skins from and see if he has any.

Thank you all for the kind words. I enjoy making a variety of things. :D

As the owner of the knife in question, and now the proud owner of the sheath K-Man made for it, I have to agree that the sheath is nicer than the blade. He did a beautiful job, "above and beyond" what I was expecting. The piece is not only beautiful, it is flawlessly constructed and fits the knife perfectly. All this for much, much less than many people charge for such a piece.

I have no hesitation recommending him to you for your custom leatherwork needs.
