Tapco 30rd AK magazines only take 27rds

My new Tapco 30 rd AK magazine won't take the whole 30. One held 28 and one 27 before the spring won't compress anymore.

I don't want to shoot these mags until I hear from someone. Though I doubt there would be problems, it's a little annoying.

My WarPac mags take 30 just fine.

New springs may just be stiff. Never had that problem with rifle mags, but have had it with various pistol mags along the way.

Steel is the way to go for AK mags

Yea tapco mags not the best, I heard some people only get 22-29 rounds in there not all 30

tapco mags suck! Steel milsurp and Bulgarian circle 10 mags (waffle mags) are much better! I would not bet my life on the Tapco mags. Use them for training but not for duty. Tapco does make some quality AK parts but not mags.

I have the stock Tapco mag that came with my Lancaster and it hold 30.
Just got it, havent even shot it yet

Mine have been reliable but I can only fit around 27 rounds. I like the Bulgarian steel mags, very reliable, and fit tight in my WASR. Plus the polymer mags just don't look right in an AK

I can only get 29 rnds in both my tapcos'. They are brand new, so maybe they will get better. Though Iwondering if the glab slap will help? I usually have to smack my glock mags to get the last round in them.
