Are they any good?

I've also read that they have come with 2 different springs, one good, and one not good?

Disclaimer: I have not used tapco mags personally. I would recommend milsurp mags for two reasons.

1) steel mags are cheaper. Try aimsurplus.com

2) they are tougher. Tapco does not use metal re-inforcement in the mag. I've seen a pic of one broken by being dropped while loaded.

If you want polymer, bulgarian waffle mags are tougher (though expensive)- they have multiple points of steel re-inforcement. Note- some crummy usa made mags mimic the waffle pattern, and polymer bulgarian mags w/out the waffle pattern do not the steel inserts.
