Good purchase for someone planning to build an AR? Obviously someone can procure better versions of simple tools like a hammer, and punches/nail guides, does this cover most of the bases?

Designed with Armorers and End Users in mind, this AR Armorer's Tool is THE ultimate tool to build, customize or maintain your AR. This all-in-one tool has a number of essential features, including a hammer, barrel nut, muzzle device, spanner wrench, forearm wrench, and flat tip screwdriver, just to name a few. Manufactured from heat treated alloy steel and powder coated with a matte Olive Drab finish, it has the strength and durability to perform any AR building need. And don't forget the handy beverage opener, so you can crack a cold one when you're admiring the product of your hard work. Made in the USA, the AR Armorer's Tool comes with a lifetime warranty.

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere. :)

No, in addition to a torque wrench you still need at minimum a punch set. You can do it without a role pin punch set but it sure maks things easier. It can be done without but you'll also be much better off with an upper vice block.

You can get a DPMS armorers tool for under $30 as well. Just avoid the super cheap ones you'll see at gun shows from time to time. They are often out of spec and made of soft metal. You can put together an AR with one but may have a hell of a time taking one apart.

Right, I have punches, hammers, and a nice torque wrench, etc.

Upper vice block is noted. I wondered if a tool like this covered the AR specific stuff.
