I'm looking for a 3-4 pound target trigger for and AR and am looking for the pros and cons of the "flat" trigger vs. the standard curved trigger shape.

My gut is to go with what I'm used to, the normal curved shape, but what are the advantages of the flat trigger other than immediately flagging the gun has having a non-standard trigger? Which might be a good enough reason if I think about it long enough, although I'd hate to spend that money and discover I hate the feel.

Are you looking for a 1 or 2 stage trigger? I currently shoot an AR Gold (2 stage) set at about 2.5 lbs but it is adjustable. It is a great trigger.

However, a sponsor is sending several single stage triggers to try, both flat and curved, so I will be able to give a better opinion on flat triggers in a week or two.

I'll very much look forward to your experience with flat vs. curved triggers. I don't think I want to go below 3 lbs at this point.

I use a flat trigger on my AR, not for any particular reason than that's the way it comes. It's a Geissele SD3G. No cons compared to a curved trigger that I've noticed. To me it feels like a trigger. I guess if my super tactical mall ninja powers were activated I would notice something, LOL. I assume there would be less of your finger contacting the trigger face but what advantages or disadvantages that gives I haven't the slightest idea.

I will get back to you when I have an update. I am going to be receiving several 3.5 and 4.5 lb triggers both flat and curved to check out.
