Once the weather down here cooperates...

Have you been able to perform any formal/informal accuracy testing yet?

And the gales from the North settle down a bit, I'll be heading out to the range for some 100 and 200 yard target work. The 700 BDL grouped between 1 - 1.5" at 100 yards before the new Shilen trigger. I'm optimistic things will settle down now.

actually most of the drop-ins are not preadjusted; you do it yourself and tinker with it until it suits your needs.

The 700 trigger is pretty good once it's adjusted from the factory "lawyer" setting. Certainly good enough for hunting.

Just test the function of the safety, etc, to make sure it's working. Then don't depend on the safety - depend on the rules.

As far as shooting your toe off, well, don't do that. :)

Regards.

You guys are kinda missing the point.

I have Remington 700's where the trigger adjusted nicely. If you read the thread above, I bought the Shilen trigger because one of my 700's wouldn't adjust like it was supposed to, something was internally wrong, and I didn't feel like drilling out the rivets to work on it, nor did I want to send a 1971-vintage rifle back to Remington for trigger work. Hence, the Shilen.

I am very pleased with the Shilen trigger in my 700 PSS. I would strongly recommend it. A 3 shot group at 100 from 2 weeks ago (300 RUM, 700 PSS). For the reloaders out there: 180 grain Accubond, 99.5 grains of Retumbo, over the chrony at 3361, extreme spread 9 fps for those 3 shots.
