I know that the subject of tasers gets beat to death but I found this recently.
Video of a traffic stop turned tasing. There are also several seperate audio files on the same page that come from the officer involved. They are of his take on the situation and why he couldn't use OC, his baton, try to drag her out of the vehicle and why he didn't try to cuff her inside the vehicle. All in all pretty interesting, aside from the woman's incessant wailing  (anybody think she's playing it out for a possible law-suit?).

The video can be found here.

Do you guys think that the law's newest 'wunder toy' is being over used? Personally, I think its a good thing for them to have as many options as are availible, as long as it doesn't have anything to do with them pulling me over for speeding  .

I don't think it's overused.

You have to understand where a Tazer fits into the force continum.

Personally, I'd rather take 50,000 volts than get pepper sprayed, batoned, beaten or shot.

Nio.

I think that most people don't have a problem with the use of tasers on individuals. Such as this dumb woman. She should have complied with the officer. Though I don't believe he should have shot her twice, as she was clearly on the floor.

The problem people have is the non-discriminate use against people such as a 100 pound 13 year old girl by two 200 pound officers. Or against the 86 year old grandpa, or the man in the wheelchair, or the guy that was tasered 15 times and went into a coma. The taser was supposed to be responsibily and unfortunately I don't think it is. Seems like LEO's were giving a tool that they are using on almost every situation. With mace, baton or gun, it seems like the officer had more "oversight" as if he started whipping the crap out of 86 year old grandpa, public outcry would be greater. But now, it seems like you even look at a LEO the wrong way, your zapped in a heartbeat.

That's my problem with the use of Tasers.
