Hello All,

Just curious to see who carries their Taurus 24/7 as their CCW. I recently picked up a new 24/7 in 9mm dirt cheap and it's my first 9mm handgun. As with many people on THR, I'm a longtime .45 and .40 fan but the 24/7 has really grown on me so far. It's quite a nice handgun and for my first 9mm, I'm rather impressed.

My issue so far, as with many people I've spoken with, is that there still are not many accessories or brands of holsters out yet to fit the 24/7. I would really like to give it a chance for some ccw time, but want to have a quality rig before I do that.

I have a VMII and C.T.A.C. as my primary holsters for a 1911 and a G23 as well as Bianchi, Fobus, etc. for a bit less concealment. But I have nothing for the Taurus yet and I'm not willing to just pick up any old brand/model simply because it's a holster.

Just interested to see what you guys have come across that works well with the 24/7 and how the 24/7 is working out for you for daily carry purposes. This isn't primarily a holster question.......it's that and a general review of carrying the 24/7 all in one. To be honest, I've heard very few negative comments on the 24/7 so far. My brother has a stainless in .40 and loves it. I got my 9mm after him (I already had a G23) and I of course really like mine.

Your thoughts and experiences are welcome.

I don't own one, but a question for those of you who do, how do they shoot?

I ordered a 24/7 .45 in the other day for a customer. I honestly wasn't expecting much, but it looked/felt good, and I was really surprised by the lightness of the DAO trigger. Honestly I had just never really paid attention to them before.

In reply to the question 'how do they shoot?'
I have a 24/7 .40 that I took to the range for the first time yesterday. I am more than pleased with it. I fired approx 300 rounds and all were grouped very tightly. My wife also shot well with it.
The ribbed grips are comfortable and the recoil wasn't a problem. I used three types of ammo without any problems, including reloads. I left the mags loaded for two or three days prior to visiting the range and this helped with loading as the spring is strong initially.
After cleaning the gun down last night the release pin was still difficult to reinsert, as it was when I stripped it down previously, I'm hoping this will ease in time.
Otherwise, no problems and a very comfortable and solid gun.

I have a Taurus PT-145, the 24/7's little brother, that I carry daily either as a primary or BUG behind my 1911's. I want to get a 24/7 in .45acp very soon. I shot one this weekend belonging to my good friend, who I turned on to the PT-145. It was every bit as good as my PT....just in a bigger package. It shot to point of aim out to 20 yards and grouped nicely. I was knocking down 8" plates at 15 yards like a pro. In 100 rounds I had zero malfunctions with Winchester White Box 230gr. FMJ's. I have yet to shoot one with my favorite HydraShoks.

I like mine!

The Taurus 24/7 9mm is my daily carry in a Fobus RU-97 paddle holster which has great retention. I find mine to be plenty accurate at combat distance. The DAO trigger isn't bad, some people have to get used to it. I think the 24/7 is a whole lotta gun for the money.

I don't own one, but a question for those of you who do, how do they shoot?

As I mentioned, I own the 9mm and I love it......it shoots quite accurately, is easy to control for follow up shots and it is nice and smooth in the slide. My brother owns the .40 and it is a nice shooter as well.

I agree with bakeryman..........the 24/7 IS a whole lot of gun for the money. My wife actually purchased mine as a gift on one of those "hot buys" sales at Gander Mountain for $309 including a box of magtech rounds. They tried to give it to her with only one mag, but she had overheard a conversation between myself and my sister-in-law who was asking me how to buy a Glock for my brother (Christmas present) and she drove them up the wall until they agreed to "do her a favor" and include the second mag which should have been included anyway. I went back about a month later pretending to be interested in one to see what the regular price was and they tried to give me a "deal" at $548.00, with only one mag of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, right.

I almost never buy anything from Gander, but I was thrilled with this deal. She done good............as usual.

I don't have a 24/7 but I do have a Taurus PT140 Milennium Pro. As mentioned above, the M. Pro is basically a smaller version of the 24/7. I love my PT140 M. Pro. Accurate, reliable, well made, and comfortable to shoot (even though it is a small, light, .40S&W). When I'm in PA it is often my carry gun.

High Noon Holsters (http://www.highnoonholsters.com) seem to be pretty popular with members over at Taurus Talk. I have a "Hidden Ally" for my M. Pro and it seems to be a pretty decent holster. Give them a try, some of the holsters (like my "Hidden Ally") are available at pretty reasonable prices as well.

I recently purchased a Mil-Pro 140 and was pleasantly surprised at it's accuracy. I only have 260 rds through it but not a hiccup so far.
