I picked up a very nice used 357 revolver 6 shot with the 4" barrel for my wife to shoot and for home defense. It has wooden hand grips I was looking it over tonight really close and didn't notice But I don't know which model it is do to it says no were on the gun. How do I find out whick model number I actually have.

Agreed, sounds like a 65. Nice revolver, that was my first double action revolver purchase after turning of age.

I have two SIX shot M66s. Just open the cylinder and look at the frame where the crane meets up. There should be a model number stamped there. The difference in the 66 and 65 is the 66 has adjustable sights.

I have a model 65 and that sounds like it, except I have rubber grips.

Taurus medium frame revolver grips are interchangeable, my 65 has rubber and rosewood grips
