Hi guys (and ladies?),

Newbie here. :)

My Taurus revolver actually has a model designation of 5584, but I was told it's pretty much the same as the 617. Does anyone have any history on this? It seems identical in plain view (Titanium, 7-shots) I'm REALLY curious.

:)
Thanks,

Vlad

Thanks for the prompt reply. I've searched the internet for that model number and haven't found anything either.

I called Taurus, and they don't have info on it--not even a couple variations of the serial number. I pick up the revolver today, so I will verify the numbers myself. From what I remember when I purchased it, the gun says TAURUS, made in Brazil, Titanium.

More info to come, I hope.

:)

Where did you see this number? Was it on a box or on the gun itself (if so, where)? You or whoever told you this could have been looking at an assembly number, which has nothing to do with the model. I have a number of Taurus revolvers. I haven't checked all of them but my 650 has 2018 stamped right above the 650 where the crane mates with the frame. I have no idea what 2018 is, but it isn't even close to my serial number. Probably just a stock or assembly number.
