Taurus in 2021

Taurus in 2021 is the same Taurus of the past. They have the absolute worst cs, their business model screws the consumer, and they will never be able to make up for their past.

A lifetime warranty from Taurus is a joke. Do some research away from youtube videos, like Better Business Bureau for some actual insight into what a great company Taurus is.....even in 2021

Ok, 3rd revision maybe without hurting any feelings.

Either go with an 11 year old "news" article, or trust the many complaints with the bbb or the www against Taurus.

I tried a G2c a couple of years ago (or it could have been the prior version of the gun, it was at a rental range). It wasn't quite as accurate or pleasant to shoot as the Glock 19 my friend rented, but it worked just fine, and we both got good accuracy after a bit of practice. My wife has a 709, which I don't really like, but it has proven accurate and reliable. It even shot some of a bad batch of hand-loads with no problems. Finally, I've had a Taurus TCP for over ten years; I had a couple of failures, one to feed and one to extract, in the first 3-400 rounds, but they could have been operator-induced (grit from polishing the feed-ramp that didn't get cleared from the chamber cause the FTE, a bad hold causing the FTF). It hasn't had any issues since, though I don't shoot it a lot. I will say it is very pleasant to shoot for a micro .380.

2 XTX22.jpg B Taurus.jpg G3 Taurus.JPG My last three purchases were two TX22's and a G3. The TX22 is downright amazing. It would have to be since I bought a second one. The G3 is a solid double stack 9 MM with a good trigger and good combat accuracy. Magazines are fairly inexpensive, about half what my CZ magazines cost. I just finished up four hundred rounds of mixed ammunition HP's, FMJ, and aluminum cased. Not a malfunction. Not one. I have been very lucky with Taurus, never had to send one back, but then most of mine were steel guns purchased in the 80's, not the rushed polymer guns that gave Taurus such a bad name. I paid $350.00 for my G3, high but it's the times. I would carry the G3 without a qualm.

All 4 of my Tauri have been trouble free. A P111, PT1911, M66 and a G2c (replacement for the 111).

You can believe outdated internet lore parrotted by people on the internet or you can believe actual people's recent experiences.

It doesn't take long to find complaints about every brand under the sun on these pages.

Sure so how about my experience? They were unable to fix a forcing cone on an 85 after 3 trips back to the factory. They also refuse to give me assurance I would ever get my PT145 back and instead only offered me half of what I bought the gun for with the recall.

Yes, all other gun companies have complaints, no where even close to Taurus. Pretty easy to select 2021 and see its no different than their past reputation.

People should go by their experience and gut feeling …
thats why no Ruger SP101’s for me or Blackhawks and zero SIGs .. thats me ..
I like Glocks , S&W & Newer Taurus semi pistols

Charter , Ruger Six series & most S&W revolvers.
I do like my Taurus 856UL
And Charters QC has been down as late .. but it seems to be making a comeback

If you believe a large scale gun dealer Kimber's give the most complaints. Go figure.

Bbb says 2 complaints against Kimber in last 3 years. 261 for Taurus. Not even close.

Kimber has cs and a warranty that will actually remedy any problems. Taurus is a joke.

Some people remind me of my father.

40 years ago, someone made a mistake on his order at Whataburger. One time. 40 YEARS AGO!

He went to his grave with such a grudge against Whataburger that he would just about fly into a rage at the mere mention if them.

I always thought Taurus had some nice designs (semi autos) I had a few in the past and they worked fine.

My issue with them is if you need to send one back, you have to pay the shipping.

With SW, Ruger, SA out there making better guns and will send a call tag, why should I buy a Taurus? Just because it is a bit cheaper??

I have a G2c. It had a binding on the trigger. I called Taurus & they offered me a $50 shipping label so I ground down the safety & fixed the problem. It is my 50% carry gun.
It takes time to get used to the trigger.
Nice gun for $200.

Why many gun owners praise their lord Taurus is beyond me. Why do people buy Taurus firearms, is it because

1- Taurus is known for their fantastic trigger assembly - don't think so
2 - because of their outstanding sights? - doubt it
3 - their build quality and quality of the materials used? - nope not buying that
4 - they will last years and years and will withstand HIGH rd counts - really doubt this one
5 - their customer service is stellar and they make every effort to solve or replace poorly designed components - this one is really a long shot
6 - their products are CHEAP - BINGO, WE HAVE A WINNER!

Ever notice how proud they are of their Taurus because they were able to get it for the lowest possible price and can't stop bragging about how CHEAP they were able to get the gun for.

High rd counts on a Taurus firearm is about as rare as hitting the lottery. I wonder how many Taurus owners on this thread have 5000+ rds of 9mm or 25000+ rds of 22 through their average/ below average at best Taurus firearm.

I didn't buy Taurus for any of those reasons. I bought them because I liked the gun offered. I know they have had poor guns offered, what firearm maker hasn't? The Colt 2000, ugh! The TX22 was a show stopper. Outselling the Glock 44 3 to 1, and no magazine issues like the G44 has. "Turn the magazine upside down and shake vigorously". Are you for real? The G2 and G3 series have proven themselves to be reliable, accurate firearms. I bought a G3 myself. I couldn't care less about the price. If I see a gun I want I buy it. The last ,45 I bought was a CZ 97b. I got mildly burned because I paid $875.00 for it when shopping around could have saved me $100.00 or so. Price does not drive every purchase!

God knows that S&W, Ruger, Colt, Kimber, SIG, etc have never produced any turds....

That's not the point, or a way to support your argument. The question was about Taurus. Throwing other random brands in doesn't change anything, yes other companies have turds. Differences include Taurus as a company being the worst turd.

I've had a share of warranty work from a few makers. Taurus by far was the worst. Either run your head into a wall for fun, or stop the insanity.

20,000 and counting... I used to just shake my head in wonderment when the Taurus, Colt and Kimber haters repeatedly spewed their utter hate and vitriol in every internet post regarding any of these makers' products. Now, I simply try to remember that many folks nurture their biases and opinions throughout their lifetimes, nothing anyone can do to change minds.

Yup, that's the one gun that Taurus didn't design , Beretta did. It was also made on Beretta made machinery. Nice try through.

Who designed it and what machines they're made on mean nothing, Taurus makes it, has made it for decades, it's good, but it's also not trying to hit a certain price point like a lot of Taurus' guns do.

Somebody made a comment weeks ago about how some companies look at a design and ask, "How can we make it cheaper?" while Taurus looks at the cheapest design and says, "How can we make it work?"

I do feel that was how Taurus was operating for years, I mean nothing else can explain the 24/7 or TCP. What has raised my opinion of Taurus is they've found designs that work and have spent years tweaking them. A Taurus G3 in 2021 is a far, FAR better pistol than a Taurus Millennium made in 2001, yet still at a low price.
