My son bought a Taurus Millennium Pro in 45 ACP eight days ago. It seemed to work well at first except for that funny DA only trigger pull. But today on the second trip to the range, after only about 125 rounds total, pieces started falling out of it.

It failed to fire and Matt popped the mag. A small piece of broken steel fell out of the bottom of the mag well. He racked the slide and a second piece fell out.

Apparently it had something to do with the striker because the DA trigger pull now does not work. The piece was broken along clean lines and was clearly brittle cheap steel.

I've had Taurus pistols before and they were great. And many people are happy with even this model. But Matt and I have fired a lot of weapons and this is the first time for either of us we had broken pieces fall out of a gun.

Maybe Taurus is resting too much on its old rep?

Thanks for the notice, but I've had no problems with my pro...45. Question what kind of ammo you using were they hand loads or something hot if not and just factory ammo as all things our tools are mechanical and made through a factory line. I would take it back to where I bought it and get the gunshop to replace it with new let him get it fixed or replaced once it gets sent back to the factory maybe have a part flaw or just an odd mishap.... the dealer should make it right....though after all its his business only to sell dependable, functional arms....

If you do have to send it in too Taurus make sure you tell them its thier dime for shipping and they should arrange pick up.
Many people pay for shipping and dont have too,BTW its expensive as heck as it has to go overnight threw UPS or FED-X.Only a FFL holder can ship overnight threw the USPS overnight.
Im under the impression only the 1st and 2nd gen Mill Pros were DOA,and the 3rd gens are SA/DA and the best quality and reliability is the 3rd gen also.

Why say Beware? All handguns are subject to failures, and i find my Mill Pro to be great.

You do not have to ship next day with fedex. You can ship any service you would like but you need to require an adult signature:

Noveldoc, if you were to go back and search the threads, you'll find that most gun manufacturers have had customers that had problems with their products. And we are talking the "big boys" in the business too. What happens after you send it back will be the "real tale of the tape." My PT-145 has handled the first couple thousand rounds with no problems; I'm as pleased as I could be with mine. I hope you get this resolved to your satisfaction.

Oh noes, now you have to use the dreaded Taurus Customer Service! :what:

(cue thunder and scary music)

Pietro Beretta- Thats news to me,and good news at that. The shipping has always been my biggest fear in dealing with any possible warrenty work, even tho ive never used it.
