Was wondering about the Taurus 24/7 Pro in 45 acp,is this a good weapon or not.

I had one, liked it, had a bunch of feed problems with the magazines and sold it. Fit really nice in the hand.

I've heard nothing too good about anything Taurus makes. However, I own a Judge and am very satisfied with it. Never have had any problems and hope it stays that way.

I have one in .40 and really like it, it is a great shooter and very comfortable to shoot. I currently have three taurus pistols and all have been great guns so far

I had a Millenniumm Pro PT145 that was a great pistol, but fell to the need for a new Sig.

I'll probably buy another.

The PT145 is a SUPER little carry, small, double stack, around 24 ounces unloaded I think. It is thoroughly reliable and very accurate. I've never fired a 24/7, but I wouldn't expect it would be less reliable. I've heard some folks have problems with magazines, not sure about all that. Most that have the gun seem to love it.

I have a 24/7 pro in 9mm and love it. One of my favorite guns. I would not hesitate to carry one or have my life depend on it.

I have owned, and still own Taurus revolvers. I have a model 66 that is extremely accurate, so I use it for bull's eye competition. Taurus autos are another story: I just got rid of a Millenium .380. I only managed to get through 18 rounds before it jammed up and had to go back for repair. Same experience (more or less) with others. I'll never own another one.

If you feel the need to go auto; go Sig or Glock. Less money for quality? CZ. Money not an issue? Kimber.

For personal defense, I'm a wheel gun man myself: if it goes 'click' or refuses to go 'bang' for whatever reason, no need to jack and rack; just squeeze the trigger again.

Just another thought: "I wouldn't hesitate to - - - - my life" or presumably the lives of loved ones is a heavy duty statement in a real life threat situation. The only autos that have never jammed on me are the 1911A1 and M9 pistols I was issued or owned. And, only then with the fmj combat loads they were designed to use.

I know the 9mm and S&W .40 are standard these days; but my back up has always been a .38 Special with + P HP loads. Now, it's my PD carry. Just an opinion, for what it's worth.
