I’d like to use a Taurus 905 for pocket carry. It is essentially a Taurus 605 but fires the 9x19 Luger. The problem is that I’m afraid the hammer will snag when I draw. Does anyone know of a place where I can buy a replacement hammer that is either bobbed or a shrouded type of hammer that won’t snag?
Thanks for your help.

I contacted Taurus a couple years ago to see if I could order a hammer (with spur and SA ability) that I could use to swap out my DAO hammer on my M85CH. The response email indicated they would not sell the part to me, though for a fee and parts charge they would make the conversion themselves if I were to arrange to have it shipped over.

I'm interested to see where you get with this. If you're successful, I might follow.

Just lean to stuff your thumb-nail against the rear of the hammer when drawing from a pocket.

Works for me for about 50 years now with S&W Chief Specials.

A gunsmith can bob (cut/grind off and reshape) the hammer spur. If you still want to retain single action cocking he can leave a small rounded stub and serrate the top of it. A pocket holster that rises the full length of the pocket in the front can also help prevent snagging.

Check gun broker. There are spare part kits that contain hammers for Taurus revolvers that pop up some time. Other than that, you would have to bob the hammer that you already have.
