Taurus revolvers and +p +p+ ammo

What is the ratings on Taurus revolvers and +p and +p+ ammo? Their revolver manual gives a list of bullet weight and velocity by caliber, but that does not really help me. They do state that +p and +p+ ammo will shorten the life of the gun and that it may exceed specs, but that is it.

Taurus claims that their stuff is "+P rated for duty use" whatever that means!!

My policy is that if I want to shoot anything +P in a Taurus revolver, I get the "magnum" rated gun.

Hence, I run only standard pressure rounds in my M85UL and save the +P stuff for my M605!!!

my 817 doesn't seem to have any probl;em with +p's, the grip does a pretty good job of soaking up the recoil.
