Hey all,

Trying to convince myself to go for a Taurus snubnose, but I think they look downright ugly with their original factory grips compared to a S&W. Could you show me some of your taurus snubbies with new grips to change my mind? Otherwise I'm shelling out extra $ for a Smith!

Grin

Forget about what they look like - do the grips work? The only time they would be on display is at the range or if you are unfortunate to actually have to present it in a self -defense situation. Likley then the bad guy won't get a good look at the grips as hes too busy running.

Having said that I have Pachmeyer hard rubber CCW grips on my Taurus M85 that I think complement it nicely and make it easy to practice with and carry. I have a similiar set on my SP 101 so i recommend you check them out.

The larger Taurus is my 605 in 357 with the original Taurus grips. The other is a Model 85 in .38Sp with Hogue overmolded grips.

I don't consider these little guns as fun to shoot although I do practice with them at least some. The factory grips work about as well as any for me and since the gun is usually concealed when I carry it, I don't much worry about looks:)

That being said, I'd recommend a S&W over a Taurus, if for nothing else than the customer service and the quality of the piece...

OKay now, I have another question!!

As you know, Taurus and S&W snub cylinders rotate counter-clockwise. I noticed on a Taurus 85 Ultralight that I was looking at, if you depressed the trigger slightly (not really pulling, more like just taking up the slack till you feel the resistance) the cylinder will push clockwise one cylinder. Do any of you experience this with your snubbies?

Nope.
