Mainly because, as mentioned in my post (which no one seems to have read in its entirety) I was halfway to the range before I remembered that I'd forgotten to lube it.

Please don't think I didn't read your entire post; I did. And please don't think I'm tryin' to bust your chops, cause I'm not. My guess is, if your particular sample is a good one, it should run w/o incident once you juice the rails.

Let us know :p

Ninja and 311, thanks again. I have checked around including the manufacturer's website and the only safety feature I can find for the Taurus is that key lock. I hope it at least has a firing pin block.

Yeah, mine as well. First I'm gonna send the little guy back to Taurus, though; this slide lock needs some definite attention.

One question: I am shooting way low with this thing. Has anyone had problems with their TCP shooting low thus far (e.g., miscalibrated sights)? I'm guessing it's just me being unfamiliar with shooting a subcompact.

No. I was disappointed that it didn't but I don't see where either the Kel-Tec or the Ruger LCP do either. The safety is a lightweight hammer and a stiff firing pin spring. I would really prefer that it had the long, true DAO trigger pull of the NAA Guardian, which I believe is safer, but with what it has and a good pocket holster, I believe it should be fine.

Why not just get the Sig P238 and in addition to the safety you get an all around better shooting pistol.
