I just bought a used Taurus Titanium in 45 Colt today and I don't know what model it is. There is no model # on the gun. I have looked at pictures of Taurus revolvers on Gun Broker and it looks like a model 85 except for the grips. It also looks like a model 450, even the grips. The one difference I did notice from the 450 is that the 450 had an SL prefix before the serial # and mine has an SH. No big deal anyway but I would like to know the model. Does anyone know how I can positively identify this gun and maybe have any experience with the Taurus Titanium?

I have a Taurus model 450Ti serial number SH755xxx. 2" barrel. Ported. Ribber Grip. Fixed sights. I don't think there were any options on those features. I love that revolver (and the frame is larger than a model 85).

goto the taurus website they have a model look up it will tell you when it was made i have a 617 total titanium 2 inch 357 i love it...

It should be the 450 . The 85 is a small frame gun.

I also have a titanium Model 731 which is a small frame in .32 Mag. I like it !

I have a 450TI. They came in 3 finishes. Gloss blue, satin and silver. Mine is a satin blue in 45C. Wonderful firearm. The only down side is you must shoot crimped bullets as the recoil from such a light gun will pull cheap cowboy load bullets.

Here is one in the gloss blue...a really unique finish...man do they go High Priced now days.

seriously ive been searching for a 450 for a while good purchase if you ask me

anyone know where i can get a NON titanium 450??
havnt seen one in a while on GunBroker.com or elsewhere

I owned one. It would shoot everything I put into it: cowboy loads, 260gr hollow point loads, self defense loads, etc.
It was a recoil monster, but it would keep them on target.

Thanks for the input guys. Never owned or shot a Taurus. Glad to see the good reviews. Was given the original paperwork after work tonight, it is a 450. Looking forward to shooting it next week.

pwatts if for any reason at all you decide you dont like it after you shoot it PM me ASAP lol

I have the Ti in 44 magnum with the 4" barrel...I keep it loaded with Hornady's 180 gr. XTP 44 Specials or CCI's 44 Shotshells. IM000498a.jpg
