Anyone own, or shoot, a Taurus Tracker in .22? I love shooting revolvers but I hate paying to shoot big-bore revolvers. I saw one at a gunshop this evening and it looked plain stupid-fun. Solid enough to be accurate but cheap enough to shoot that I would never run out of ammo.....

However, I've never shot, or owned, a Taurus revolver and would like to get some feedback before I drop some cash. If they're anything short of fantastic I'll spend a bit more and find a S&W 617.

Thanks.

True, but the thing that appeals to me is the fact that this is a full-sized revolver so it looks and feels like a "real gun" vs. the toys that most .22's feel like.

I've thought about picking up a .22 conversion for my Glock 23 but I still dig revolvers.....

I've three Taurus wheel guns and have no complaints. My Tracker is in .44 mag. but I have their small frame gun in .22 RF , the model 94 .

Short of fantastic ? Well , perhaps the S&W is worth the extra $ in your case.

Thanks gang,

I have a couple of options and the Tracker is one of them so your feedback gives me something to think about over the holiday.

thanks once again.

Big mistake!! for me it was. I bought a brand new in the box tracker. I could not wait to shoot it and went strait to the woods. Set up a target and the firing pin broke!! Wraped it up sent to Taurus and waited 3 weeks. When I got it back they had not touched it! literally I pointed the barrel towards the floor and the pin just followed gravity. I made an irate phone call to Taurus and sent it back in. The wait was shorter this time ( 2 weeks ) and it the pin was fixed, but the gun was scratched. I took it out for target practice and it was not nearly as accurate as my single six or diamondback so I sold it to the first person with a decent offer. I only lost 50 bucks, but lesson learned. No more Taurus for me.
