Hello fellas here is my latest addition to my collection, I like the size and weight of the LCP what i dont like is I can not find any ammo right now!!The 44mag will be my HD pistol for my wife , i figure easy to operate and enough power to stop a BG, I might even try to find a holster i can use to CCW it if i want to..

I love shooting .44 mag, big thunder:D It might be a beast to cc though, I wouldn't mind having something like that around the house. I'd be like to try a tracker out sometime, tried out a friends taurus snubby and liked it well enough... wouldn't mind trying one of their bigger revolvers.
 
I have the 4" Stainless and I am fond of it. Wether it is a good HD weapon for the wife depends on the wife.
It can be a hand full with .44 mag ammo , and therefore I usualy stoke mine with .44 Spl. Even for HD the .44 Spl is plenty effective with good bullet selection,(and not bad with just about anything) and recovery is smoother and faster.

That said I usualy end up with the first 3 in .44 Spl with the last 2 being .44 mag. (just a personal quirk if you will)
 
Dude, they have one of those at my Academy, and I've been seriously thinking about buying it for a LONG time.

You're only making me think about it more, hahahha!
 
My buddy an I stopped by the local gun shop to pick up some ammo I had set aside. I eyeballed the Tracker in the case and had a look at it. Awesome revolver. My buddy bought it. lol :).

hello my online peeps!! I was able to try my Tracker today and took this 2 vids using different ammo, the 1st one i was using the CCI Blazer 240 gr the 2nd one i was using the winchester silvertips, i had some issues when i was using the CCI though, a couple times after the 1st shot the cylinder seems like it was locked of some sort becs i can not pull the trigger then i noticed that( i think) that some of the CCi was a bit too long??it was all factory so I'm not sure why, anyway i eventually finished my 50 rounds but i was a little worried that something is not right with the pistol so went home and got more ammo, same brands but this time they are all the right specs..so anyway it worked fine at the end, one more thing the pin on top of the sights keeps rolling out any idea why??here are the vids..

LOL ! I think I made my point perhaps - that was a "Damn" I heard wasn't it ?

.44 Spl is much more pleasant to shoot . The Tracker is a small frame .44 Magnum more suited to occasional magnum use in my opinion.
 
I would like a .41 mag tracker, but I handload, so I'd tame it a bit with light stuff for the range, keep the heavy stuff for the trail. I don't really like ported barrels, though. I have a plain jane M66 Nickle 4" 6 shot .357 Taurus that's fantastic, really all I need for the trail and don't push the blast back in my face.

The .44 in a light gun is quite a handful, but at least you have .44 specials if you don't handload it. It's a light enough gun to carry concealed, especially in titanium.
 
mcgunner I'm kinda new with the revolver thing so pardon my question, whats wrong with the ported barrel??i'm asking becs i have read some guys doesn't like it too, i use to own a ruger 44mag and i dont see the difference in recoil okay maybe the ruger SBH has a longer barrel but recoil feels thesame to me..

I think you have made an excellent choice for SD; for you and your wife.
And also your choice of ammunition. Exclude the CCI stuff.

I have the 45ACP model, but so far haven't searched for a holster.
I suspect, though, that one of the strap or "bandaid" types will be what you will have to settle for. I have seen some wider ones that may be good.
Though I'm surprised that no one here on THR has recommended one -yet.

Perhaps some "Locktite" or other thread compound will keep the pin in place, though I would examine it closely to determine if there is a misfit or even breakage involved.

Also, you have not reported your wife's reaction to shooting it. Please do so, and my guess is that she will take to it. Many women are underestimated.
Though, I hope if this is her first gun shoot, that you would gradually introduce her; beginning with the 22.

Your trigger control and revolver handling show experience or good instruction from someone.
 
I was going to post my negative attitude toward Taurus, but if your happy, I'm happy for you. As a house gun it's not the worst choice but for the money, when I had money, I went for used Ruger instead. I did have the 44c 2.5", traded it for a 642 and made my .44 SBH my house gun. To each his own, enjoy, be safe and inspect the release catch every so often as they can shear off (so can S&W but it hasn't happened to me yet on my S&W). My 44c was a bear to shoot BTW, and it was too heavy for pocket CCW.
 
Nice revolvers guys, I have a Tracker 44 mag myself, I fitted it with hogue monogrips, and have a uncle mike's holster &some HKS speed loaders for it, it's been nothing but a fine weapon for me. Quite often I load it with 44 special's, but I also shoot a fair ammount of mag loads, typically Remington 240 grain JHP's, or Corbon 260 grain JHP's. Great revolver.
