Taurus Trigger Job Questions

I have a Taurus 85 made in 1988.

I'd like to perform a "do it yourself" trigger job on it.

Is it the same internally as a S&W J frame?

Are there any good websites that really explains how to do this properly (tools, processes, etc.)?

The Smith and the Taurus are completely different internally. You can buy a reduced trigger spring kit from Brownells for your Taurus that will help. You will have to polish both the trigger and hammer and because of liability reasons, I'm not sure many people will respond.

If the spring kit isn't enough, I recommend a gunsmith.

Fair enough. I'm certainly not trying to trap anyone here. I'm just wanting some info.

I was considering purchasing the S&W video for trigger jobs if it was the same.

Where can I find out what to polish on the hammer and trigger?
