Has anyone here intalled these or other reduced trigger group springs for the AR15? Any pitfalls? Understandably, hard primers may be an issue.
I assembled a lower for 300 BLK pistol, (I know this is rifle subforum), but with mil spec springs and unbraced, it is a challenge to keep gun steady when firing.
I'm not out much if I have to go with a drop in. TIA!

I used the JP reduced spring kit in my 300 Blackout lower with no problems.
Okay, thanks!
With cooler weather coming in, and a busy schedule. Not sure when I will be able to test it. I guess that may afford me the time to collect a variety of ammo for testing. :)

JP Springs makes two spring kits for the AR. One is their "enhanced reliability" kit if light strikes or hard primers are a concern.

I’ve never used the Taylor kit. The screw seems pretty cool. I have always just used a set screw the same purpose. But you have to adjust the trigger travel with the hand grip off. Being able to adjust the travel after you put it all together might just be worth the cost of admission. As far as the reduced hammer spring, bending the legs up about 20 degrees will also lighten you trigger pull. It still might be worth the price to be able to go back to stock. The JP spring sets also work great.

In the end if you want a good trigger you are probably gonna have to spend some more money.

And if you want a great trigger you are for sure gonna have to spend.

I installed one, no range time yet. But the set screw runs through the grip mounting screw. So you can adjust with grip in place. The set comes with extra long L-shaped allen wrench.
