TC Encore .45ACP

Looking to get a .45 ACP rifle barrel for my TC Encore. Planing on somewhere between 16" and 20".

Does anyone recommend a barrel maker for this. Never had a custom rifle barrel made before. Whoever it is it must be stainless and I would really like iron sights but it seems nobody offers iron sights for anything these days.

I'll be using it with a Silencer Co Octane .45 HD and an Eotech. Just a fun gun. I'll mainly be shooting 230 grain FMJ Winchester white box or some other cheap FMJ ammo.

I've been looking at Match Grade Machine but if anyone has any recommendations let me know.

I have purchased a Contender barrel and an Encore barrel from Bullberry. Well made and they offer matching stocks and fore ends.

Also, they are good folks to work with.

As a note, you will not get much velocity improvement with 45 ACP going to a 16 to 20 inch barrel. Maybe 200-300 fps over an M1911. If you already knew that, have fun with your project.

They look like very nice barrels! Do you think they are worth the extra $100 over MGM?

Do you know of anyone offering iron sights as an option?

45acp - velocity vs Barrel length.

Velocity/barrel length chart http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/45auto.html Very little difference in velocity from 5" to 18" barrels using the listed 230 gr loads. 45 fps and 42 fps.

I have both, a Bullberry in 7.62 x 39 and a MGM in 357 mag. Both are very accurate barrels. To me, the Bullberry has a deeper blue finish. That is the only difference I see.
