This is an announcement for Tech alumni, students, staff, faculty and the Lubbock community. Only Tech affiliated persons are allowed to be officers and members (unless we decide a community membership option) but we would like community input on what you would like to see us do.
Below is the message sent to students, I'm just copy/pasting because its 3am and too tired to amend it for the public audience.

Guns Up Techsans! We are a newly formed student organization here to serve our fellow gun enthusiasts!
The general purpose of this club is to provide a safe, fun and educational atmosphere for Tech students, faculty and staff to exercise their 2nd amendment rights. We are looking to form competitive teams, provide firearm safety and marksmanship training, provide firearm training for beginners, show you how to reload your own ammunition to save $$$, and provide opportunities for NRA training (i.e. become a range officer) as well as holding CHL classes at a deep discount or even free (up to officers and membership, as available funds allow).
We are looking for great people to run this thing, this meeting is an organizational meeting to find interim officers and for potential members to have input on what they'd like us to do/provide. We really need people who are knowledgeable, or willing to learn, about 501c(3) tax and accounting practices, sales (for finding sponsors and selling our products), marketing, business, artists (we need logo, t-shirt and other merchandise designs), and student government (to be our SORC rep).
There are many other opportunities available with this new club that I haven't even begun to describe here. If you want to know more you have to come to this meeting or contact us!
