Does anyone have any idea about the specific powder that Federal uses for its P256 Federal "Wing-Shok® Magnum" shotshell ammunition?

The specific Load is a 20 ga, 2-3/4" 1-1/8 oz. of #4 Lead Shot

What powder does Federal use in this shell?

Where can I find technical data?

I don't think you're going to find that data. It is widely knownthat they very seldom do manufacturers divulge the information. They probably change components from time to time, adjusting as necessary to preserve published ballistic data.

On the other hand, maybe you'll get lucky and find out. Let us know.

My researches have indicated that Hodgdon nor anyone publishes recipes for 20 ga, 2-3/4" 1-1/8 oz loads.

Federal Wing Shok is a commercially available load in that specification.

On the other hand, I discovered by Trial & Error, that it is physically possible to actually use the common components for a 1 oz Recipe, i.e.

[Rem STS 2-3/4" Hull, W209 Primer, SP20S Wad, and 16.0 grains of Hodgdon Longshot, 10,400 psi & 1165 fps]

And rather easily fit 1-1/8 oz of small lead shot into the Hull. It sounds good, but I haven't a clue what the CHAMBER PRESSURE is, and I do not know where to send shells for a Ballistics Test.

Well, Bruce, why didn't you say so? I thought you were specifically asking about Federal powder.

From the Lyman shotshell book:
Federal plastic hull with 0.350" paper basewad, folded crimp.
Remington SP20 wad
Fed 209A primer
Longshot 17.0g

1152 fps, 11,000 psi

There ya go.
