Ted Cruz Rattles Feinstein

Heh-heh! Nicely done.

I thought Ted was too nice as well. He has done better. It's easy to armchair quarterback after the facts, but Ted is going places, fast. He did well, considering he had to interact with someone who admitted she has been gas-bagging for over 20 years.

He is one of me Senators also and the reason I voted for Him are becoming pretty obvious, He is doing exactly what a lot of us expected Him to do, I Like It.;)

I have to agree with Rand Paul that many American people are moving toward a (modified) libertarian philosophy. I don't know any 6th graders that understand the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. They teach little about the American Revolution any more in the schools in my area.

I hated "history" in grade school. I was young and dumb. I guess they call it "civics" now. My "civics" class was about government, not history to any great degree.

I Really like Senator Cruz and yes he is my Senator; but....

1) He didn't go at her hard enough. He let her frame the responce in to No Response of fact.
2) When She lied and or misrepresented the facts he didn't go after her. Imploding bullets? The answer would have been; "So you skipped Science and Physics as well as Constitutional Law?"
3) She was allowed to give emotional answers to intellectual questions and again Cruz didn't go after her. Times, dates and facts of exactly when She was at a crime scene and allowed to "Stick her finger in the bullet hole."

Time and Time again She gets a pass, I'm really not sure why someone doesn't call her out?
Any lie told long enough and loud enough is determined to be fact by these people, I'm sorry Cruz failed miserablly here.

I have no problem with people have different opinions on issues. What I dislike is the arrogance and dismissive attitudes of people like Diane Feinstein.

If she would answer the questions about the slippery-slope effecting other amendments, in a polite and reasonable manner and not end with snotty somewhat threatening remarks; I would be more open to listening to their viewpoint.

She told us why. She's been in the Senate for 20 years. It's called seniority. Junior freshman senators like Cruz have none and therefore should keep quiet play the game. It is how the Senate works.

Cruz isn't playing the game and it has a lot of people upset (McCain, the NYTimes, and just about every Democrat in the country).

Thank you Sir, that's how I see it also!;)

She needs a swift boot out of office and into a retirement home. She's not a sixth grader, she's archaic.

But unfortunately the archaic rules of the Senate preclude the kind of smackdown she deserved to get. It's not the House of Commons. It's an institution designed around very old, powerful people to minimize any attempt to challenge them or their power. And you'll look in vain to see anything about seniority rules in the Constitution.

I’ve seen the bullets that implode.

Since she IS the gun salesperson of the year, maybe she can tell us where we can get these imploding bullets! I want some.

There are also some pretty strict rules of decorum on how elected representatives interacting as part of official legislative processes may verbally address each other.

This is why you hear funny speech like referring to themselves in 3rd person, addressing Feinstein as "the senior senator from California", etc. Reference Barbara Boxer's snizz-fit about being called "ma'am" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0CprVYsG0k).

Those rules of decorum don't allow one representative to "go after" another over things like that.

I haven't really observed Cruz violating senate decorum by being disrespectful. If he violates decorum, he does it by having the temerity to actually do his job and represent his constituents.

Dressed down? Hardly. Her response is basically an arrogant, condescending "How DARE you question me?".

If I can make a request of Senator Cruz it would be that he demand of Feinstein a lucid explanation of how each of the "military" features makes the firearm dangerous, force her to give a lucid answer about how the AR compares in power to a standard hunting rifle.

And then point out that her proposal is based on the same bigotry and ignorance that gave us the Jim Crow laws, that we decided in 1964 that such laws have no place in a P-R-O-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E society.

I haven't observed that, either -- my words were in response to the folks asking, "why didn't he REALLY go after her?" Apologies for quoting you there, because I agreed with what you said...I was just adding to your response.

funny how liberal politicians & the media portray an AR as a super-weapon of mass destruction.. even a .45LC wheel-gun is capable of massive damage (just sayin') :p

Mr. Cruz and Ron Paul both come from a state I need to move to

Please do. Texas is not a Red state. It is a maroon state going purple that may well turn blue sooner than most of us want to think about. Look at the 2012 election map. Those blue areas along the border and around Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio are only going to grow unless we can counter balance it some way.

She was very adamant about being knowledable about the Constitution.

And Ted Cruz is a Constitutional lawyer who has successfully argued before the U.S. Supreme Court more than once. That is what makes her attitude so laughable. She even stated at one point that she is not a lawyer.

She was mad for two reasons: 1) Because a freshman senator dared to challenge her what with her 20 year record in the senate (and 9 years as mayor of San Francisco during which time she jeopardized the Night Stalker case) and 2) she couldn't answer his questions. In a head-to-head debate on the Constitution, Ted Cruz would mop the floor with Feinstein. I am proud to have voted for him.

He is my senator and I voted for him, so I am biased. I thought he was way to polite and did not bring his thought to a simple question fast enough. He did a good job, but I thought he could have been a bit better.

As a voter, I don't care what folks out of state think. Ted is doing exactly what we elected to do so far. I am proud that he is representing me.
110 percent in agreement.

When older 'distinguished' Senators and Congressmen rattle off stupid stuff they should be held accountable for what they say.

Sen. Cruz held Sen. Feinstein accountable and she just could not take sound logic.

Three cheers for him! And yes I an a true blue Texican.
